The Invitation

For over a decade, MHT Technology and Endress+Hauser have shared their tank gauging knowledge to deliver groundbreaking hardware, software, and servicing solutions. To celebrate MHT’s 30th birthday and to show appreciation for the work that MHT has contributed to the E+H Group, we were all very kindly invited for a company visit to the Endress+Hauser campus in Maulburg, Germany. Whilst some colleagues have had the opportunity to visit before, this trip is the first time that an invitation has been sent to every colleague here at MHT.

The Trip

Departing from various airports around the North of England, our colleagues made the journey from the UK to Basel (with a changeover in Amsterdam). Arriving in groups at different times throughout the day, everyone finally convened at the Brauhaus Lasser, Lörrach. After a day of travelling, what better than an evening meal (and maybe a pint or two) at an authentic German brewery.

The next day, it was time to visit the Maulburg campus. Upon arrival, we were welcomed and shown presentations, providing information on different E+H entities around the world, and showing us a glimpse into the strategic future of our company relationship. After the presentations, it was time for a tour of the manufacturing facility, where tank gauging instrumentation is built ready for distribution and installation around the globe. This trip also presented an excellent opportunity to spend some time with our E+H counterparts. In the afternoon, a wonderful BBQ was put on by E+H which gave everyone the chance to mingle and enjoy some quality German food and beverages.

Conveniently located just across the road from our accommodation, the Lörrach train station offers regular journeys to Maulburg.
Upon arrival at the Maulburg campus, we were given presentations outlining the importance of the relationship between MHT and Endress+Hauser as well as shining a light on strategies for the future.
To commemorate MHT’s 30th Birthday, Endress+Hauser very kindly presented us with glass artwork from artist Britta Schmidhauser. The piece, highlighting the collaboration and relationship between MHT and Endress+Hauser will soon be proudly hung up in the MHT offices.

"The trip to Germany was both eye-opening and a highly engaging one, most especially the factory tour. From the moment we arrived, I was struck by the sheer scale of the facility, which was a testament to the advanced industrial capabilities of the region. The factory was meticulously organized, with a clear focus on efficiency and precision at every stage of production.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the tour was witnessing the seamless integration of cutting-edge technology into the manufacturing processes. The automation and robotics in use were not only impressive but also demonstrated a level of sophistication that underscored the factory's commitment to innovation.

The colleagues who were catching the later return flight were able to spend some time taking in the sights of picturesque Basel.
"The recent company trip to Germany was my first work-related travel, and it was a very enjoyable experience. We visited a local brewery and enjoyed the food and culture. Additionally, touring the modernised E+H campus was a highlight; the workspace felt really open and light, which created a nice atmosphere. On the final day, we crossed the border into Basel, Switzerland. Built between 1019 and 1500, Basler Münster features both Roman and Gothic architecture and the Cathedral is one of Basels most famous landmarks.
